Cooking oil in diesils (mines a transit)?

I thought this was a joke until I reseached it, and yes its true I filter my old chip/fish cooking oil through muslin and put it straight into fuel tank -its more ecological and the engine seems smoother-very slight loss of power- but only put 33% in cold weather and 50% in warmer weather -it will run on 100% but you need heater kits. good luck andCooking oil in diesils (mines a transit)?
i have ran a transit engine on used cooking oil+methanol to give it a bit more power.just tried it once to see how it would go but the exhaust smelt like a chip shop, seriously!. i dont think its illegal anymore , i think customs and exise relaxed laws recently to allow you to use so much for personal use per year but check up on the exact rules first.Cooking oil in diesils (mines a transit)?
try parafin and a drop of 2 stroke oil

I have always been afraid as the centane levels are different and the engines are very expensive.


Do you need any additives?
You can now use a certain amount without paying duty, but you still need to be registered with HMR%26amp;C and keep a record of what you use. If you get caught in a ';dip test';, they will find what you're using and can check instantly whether you have in fact registered etc., and inspect your records. If you're not doing it legally, look out!
Just be careful that the customs and excise don't pull you and do a check on the fuel!

only use it if its a bosch fuel pump seals are bio friendly thin it down 10%white spirit make sure no water in fat should be ok and change your oil and filter every 4k use a jay cloth for filtering only 5 microns saves your fuel filter+carry one in your van because the oil is thicker than diesel it will pick up all the crap that is sitting at the bottom of the fuel tank and block the filter up.been using it in 1994 300tdi discovery for 3 yers now went through about 10 filters in 5k ok now.register customs fill in forms and you can use 25000 liters a year after that its 47p a liter.i use 50% all year no mods when you make let it settle it separates crap(cloudy its no good for engines its the anti foaming agents) at the bottom gold at the top approx 2 weeks good luck
I run my Transit on dog and human turds mashed up and watered down, no loss of power and the engine runs fine, but anyone sitting behind me in traffic always wind there windows up, I wonder why?
It is still illegal if you haven`t declared that you are using it and paid the duty on it.


The fines are horrendous if you get caught.
if you got a lucas cav injection pump on it it will fail and cost tons to put right bosch are better with a veggie mix
just watch your heads though.
