Which Cooking oil......?

Hi,

I have a very basic question about cooking oil. For cooking one time meal of 2-3 people, typically we use around 2 spoons of cooking oil. And, I know that which oil should be used, is quite a topic of discussion. I don't understand that are those 2 innocent spoons of (any) oil can affect us so much??

I mean, to me, it seems that 2 spoons of even the most unhealthy oil may not affect us much?

Please correct me, if I am wrong.

Any quantitative justification should help all the more.Which Cooking oil......?
Unfortunately, it does affect some of us a lot and in a very bad way. I can tolerate olive oil very well but am allergic to most other oils, no matter what quantity. This limits the choices of foods and restaurants I can have and visit.Which Cooking oil......?
Everybody is fat-conscious these days.

Olive is good for salads but not for cooking.

Peanut is the best for smoke-free frying.

Flax oil has omega which is heart-friendly.

We like Canola for everyday use in Canada.
It depends upon the rest of your diet. If that is about all the fatyou get in a day, then it doesn't matter much.

But that would mean nonfat dairy foods, reduced fat crackers, lean meats, no mayo or mayo-based salad dressings, no butter/marg on veggies or breads, that sort of thing. If you're doing that, it really doesn't matter if you use lard or suet or canola oil. But if your diet is like most Americans', we get fat elsewhere too, so where we can control what kind of fat we take in, we do, and choose canola, olive, safflower, sunflower, or other poly- or mono-unsaturated oils for the health benefits.
Some oils are good for us such as olive oil and some are bad such as hydrogenated oils like they use for deep frying. Small amounts of oil aren't bad but we Americans don't do anything in small amounts. There is fat in everything and most oils in the US have additives in them which make them not only bad for us but really bad. If you could use Extra virgin olive oil for everything your troubles would be over but then your cakes and cookies would taste like olives. One alternative now is grape seed oil. It's a bit more expensive than your normal canola oil or corn oil but it's very light and much better for you. No trans fat, low cholesterol and very high smoke point. Worth every penny

For diet control we are using olive oil for cooking.?

and as my experience it is not incresing cholestrol. but now one medical person is telling it is bad to use the olive oil for cooking-means heating. it should use only direct. if heat it gives more dangerous result.is it correct? For diet control we are using olive oil for cooking.?
Considering olive oil is a Monounsaturated fat, it is healthier than a lot of other oils because Monounsaturated fats will increase your HDL levels (the good cholestrol) and decrease your LDL levels (the bad cholestrol). Whoever told you that olive oil is bad, I think they were referring to its smoke point, not as to how healthy it is. Olive oil has a lower smoke point than peanut oil for example. That means olive oil will smoke and burn quicker than peanut oil when you cook with it. So it's best to use olive oil for things that don't require long cooking times or frying. For diet control we are using olive oil for cooking.?
I dont think this is true, read this

olive oil???? i don't really know about alive oil but for me its not the oil that matter but the person that is consuming it. well for me the best way of being healthy is by having a healthy diet and healthy diet is having all types of nutrients in the right proportion and you also need to consider your daily activities. Your daily activities will tell you what is the amount of certain nutrient that you need to consume. If you still get problem in the proportion of food you should check the food pyramid. Good Luck and All The Best!!!!
No.

throw the gloves and oil away and take the $20 to go out and get some chinese food

In kosher law, if cooking meat, do all products such as cooking oil need to be kosher rather than pareve?

Even if it is something non-dairy such as pure soybean oil?In kosher law, if cooking meat, do all products such as cooking oil need to be kosher rather than pareve?
    theres 3 ';groups'; of kosher.

Meat, Milk,a nd Pareve(vegetable... neither milk nor meat)

pareve things can be used with milk or meat, but once they are exposed to one, they count as that one.

and when cooking everything involved has to be kosher. all the hardware (bowls, plates, pans, ect) have to be sterilized and kept separate once de-neutralized, (a sterilized... say bowl, is not milk or meat or anything, but once its exposed to it, until its resterilized, it has to be kept with that category)

and all ingredients have to be kosher and of that side (milk or meat) or pareve.

    hope that answers it.

    edit: %26gt;%26gt;';Also if having a meal of meat, does everything in the meal need to be Kosher rather than Pareve?';%26lt;%26lt;

it has to be meat or pareve, rather than being milk. that goes as far as not even having dairy creamer for coffee afterwards, by the strictest views.

generally on a kosher meal it would be entirely milk or entirely meat. that way people can plan accordingly.

btw fish is not meat. (just a side note that many are confused by)In kosher law, if cooking meat, do all products such as cooking oil need to be kosher rather than pareve?
Everything must be Kosher. Pot ,pans must be seperate from dairy. The whole set of kosher rules is called The Laws Of Kashrut. Just Yahoo Kashrut.

WHAT ARE THE CHEAP ALTERNATIVE WAYS OF RE-OILING MY K&N AIR FILTER?(COOKING OIL?)?

some people use pam on them ,the type cooking oil that you spray out of a can will work on them ,i haven't ever tried this but been told it will work, and its cheaper than the recharge kit, good luckWHAT ARE THE CHEAP ALTERNATIVE WAYS OF RE-OILING MY K%26amp;N AIR FILTER?(COOKING OIL?)?

WHAT ARE THE CHEAP ALTERNATIVE WAYS OF RE-OILING MY K%26amp;N AIR FILTER?(COOKING OIL?)?
use the k%26amp;n kit, the oil in the kit is made to catch the most dirt as well as not damage internal parts. if you put cooking oil on it the engine will consume it and it may spin a bearing which is alot of labor costs to replace.

if you have a turbo then you have to use the k%26amp;n or else the oils will start to burn in the turbo and cause loss of air flow, and worse may take out seals.
Don't use cooking oil, I run a Dirt modified and a couple of times i have run out of the KxN spray oil so i have used automatic trans fluid, but i don't recommend that either.cooking oil has a low flash point and easily clogs with dust particles.your filter is only as good as the care and maintenance you give it.If you do use the cooking oil run a precleaner wrapped around your KxN like outer wear
the only way to go is with the true KN oil. you are taking a risk with a motor by using a cooking spray. i would much rather pay $6 for the KN oil then say $3000 for a new motor. make sense?? using a cooking spray is only asking for trouble.
really any kind of oil will work the oil only there to catch more dirt...spray oil of any kind is easier but why not use what it calls for
