Is canola oil the same as cooking oil?

i know canola and vegetable oil are basically the same but not sure about cooking and canola oil...HELP!! i need brownies for tomarrow!!

thanks!!Is canola oil the same as cooking oil?
Oil is oil is oil.

Different oils serve different purposes and have different positive traits and boundaries.

Olive oil does not overheat well. So if you wanted to fry or heat on really high heat for a long time, olive oil would not be beneficial (plus, it is the most expensive).

Veggie oil and canola oil are great for frying and baking.

If something calls for one type of oil - as your brownies do - and you only have another type of oil - use whatever is on hand. For ex. if you only had olive oil, your brownies would not taste too different - most people wouldnt notice it - I never did. With brownies, use whatever you have on hand and whatever is cheapest, as the oil will not be the main taste in the brownies.

Hope this helps! Is canola oil the same as cooking oil?
Yes, Canola is what you need for brownies, because it doesn't have a heavy flavor. And vegetable oil is not healthier than canola unlike the other answer said.
you can use either. Canola oil is a healthier choice for you but veggie oil will cook better in a brownie mix. Use canola for some salad dressings, frying etc.
I grew up where they grow canola. It is used for cooking, though vegatable oil is supposed to be healthier.
yes I use whatever i have on hand...canola, corn, veggie or sunflower..
YES
