One liter of cooking oil =? K.gram?

I had not any cooking Oil of that size but it so Happens I have a Bottle of Lamp Oil which is the same Consistency as Cooking Oil .It is 1Litre and I weighted it and got 840 Grammes which is 160 shy of 1Kilo hope this helps
