WHAT ARE THE CHEAP ALTERNATIVE WAYS OF RE-OILING MY K%26amp;N AIR FILTER?(COOKING OIL?)?
use the k%26amp;n kit, the oil in the kit is made to catch the most dirt as well as not damage internal parts. if you put cooking oil on it the engine will consume it and it may spin a bearing which is alot of labor costs to replace.

if you have a turbo then you have to use the k%26amp;n or else the oils will start to burn in the turbo and cause loss of air flow, and worse may take out seals.
Don't use cooking oil, I run a Dirt modified and a couple of times i have run out of the KxN spray oil so i have used automatic trans fluid, but i don't recommend that either.cooking oil has a low flash point and easily clogs with dust particles.your filter is only as good as the care and maintenance you give it.If you do use the cooking oil run a precleaner wrapped around your KxN like outer wear
the only way to go is with the true KN oil. you are taking a risk with a motor by using a cooking spray. i would much rather pay $6 for the KN oil then say $3000 for a new motor. make sense?? using a cooking spray is only asking for trouble.
really any kind of oil will work the oil only there to catch more dirt...spray oil of any kind is easier but why not use what it calls for
