Would this mean, if my vehicle runs on water (hydrogen) that I would have to pay tax on Water?Motor Fuel Tax on used cooking oil?
Probably.

I have said since the first solar panel was discussed that as soon as Washington figured out some way to TAX sun light that those panels would be cheap and plentiful.

Seriously, at this time in my life there are very few things that would surprise me. There are plenty of things that would piss me off but not surprise me.Motor Fuel Tax on used cooking oil?
If you think that any one can get away with out paying taxes to the government you are sadly mistaken... It has already been proposed that cars should be taxed on miles driven instead of on a per gallon basis... this is punishment for those that drive fuel efficient cars.... under that proposal even totally electric cars would be taxed..... Don't fret... your government will always get it's ';pound of flesh';....
Motor fuel taxes finance the public roads, bridges, tunnels and mass transit. It's a logical way to pay for the roads, since the people that drive more provide a bigger proportion of financial support. If you drive only on private land -- such as farms and ranches -- you don't have to pay fuel tax. I'm a bit surprised they went after the folks with the VW diesel; so few people burn veg oil in their cars that it hardly seem worth the effort to collect the tax.
The combination of raw ethanol and various esters derived from cooking fuel could really undermine the petroleum industry.

Americans eat a lot of oily food, the left over waste is an excellent companion additive for ethanol.

This was supposed to have been kept secret. I learned it from listening in on some serious oil industry honchos.

You heard it here.
Well, when the Big Changes come, you won't have to worry about taxes.
of course we would have to pay tax on water fulled cars nobody is going to let that one go
