Cause that will pump out a load of crap in the air.Not all 4x4's are diesel anyway.Different if they ran on methane or power cells but there probably would't be enough power to be a genuine 4x4.Why is there gonna be an increase road taxes on 4 x 4s when most can take cooking oil instead of diesel?
the percentage of people using cooking oil in their car is extremely low.
Most cars need to be converted and people are not prepared to risk using cooking oil in case it completely recks their car......it has been proven that cooking oil can be used as an alternative but nothing has been proven as to what long term damage it may have on a car.
And cooking oil will still produce emissions that damage the environment anyway!!!Why is there gonna be an increase road taxes on 4 x 4s when most can take cooking oil instead of diesel?
how many alternative fuel stations do you know of?people can't use cooking oil...although I expect this has to be processed, not just out of a supermarket bottle...if only offered petrol and diesel.
No they can't
you are not spots to cook oil so that is why
Chelsea Tractors (CT). Normal people hate them.
Lets not forget that 90% of the working population (the people generating the wealth, remember) couldn't afford one anyway, the average salary is about 22k /year remember.
They take up more parking space, meaning that the normal people have more difficulty parking.
They're heavier and more dangerous to other road users and lethal against pedestrians (especially small people). According to research carried out by US scientists in 2003, and published in the journal Accident Analysis %26amp; Prevention, pedestrians hit by large SUVs are twice as likely to die as pedestrians struck by cars.
Normal people and pedestrians can't see the traffic around them with a CT in front of them, increacing the hazards for other raod users.
They're driven badly, on the whole.
We're a democracy and politicians like to act on policies that are, on the whole, agreed with by the general population.
Tax the hell out of those Chelsea tractors, I agree. Then legislate about vehicle height and weight, requiring an advanced driving test for anything above this height or weight.
There is no 4x4 out there that comes out of the factory that runs on cooking oil.
And no, you can't run any car or 4x4 for that matter to run on cooking oil until you make some modifications.
So your generalisation that all 4x4s can run on cooking oil is entirely false.
The reason is that 4x4's are deemed as recreational vehicles. They built for offroad use so they are mostly large heavy and have powerful engines. Only a small percentage of 4x4's run on diesel. Being large bulky machines they not only pollute more, but they are take up more space on the road.
Next, even if its possible for you to run on cooking oil. Why arent you using it? Some governments provide incentives to owners who convert their cars to be bio-friendly (like Europe). You simply apply for it. In the US, why dont you ask your congressman to pass a similar bill?
So why do you think they are charging you higher road tax for an offroad car you purchased that is rarely used off-road? When you can purchase a smaller car with a smaller engine that pollutes less?
BTW, cars properly modified on to run on SVO (Straight Vegetable Oil) are doing the environment a favor. Properly modified engines on SVO actually pollutes less, gives great mileage and keeps all that used cooking oil off our sewers and pollute the soil and water. Have you checked how many cars and 4x4's out there have been modified to run on the stuff?
all cars if converted can take cooking oil but who wants to drive around in a car smelling of kfc.............
