wow, some people dont half waffle on...
simple answer YES. you can run your old ford on a diesel/oil mix BUT...
its got to be clean, thats micron filter clean, or itll clog the filters. DONT us oil from dirty dans burger vans... i bought a diesel veg volvo, it cost 4oo quid to fix it, but ran like a song for another 4yrs, till i sold it. (and bought a toyota diesel)
the oil waxes, but mixing it with pump diesel reduces that, and its not actually cold yet, wait till jan/feb... then it may give you problems...
their appears to be more power in used cooking oil, BUT, its a nightmare to clean, neutralise, and refine, (cooked in oil is acidic, your diesel metering pump ISNT protected... and it doesnt like corrosion of any sort) fresh oil is virtually PH neutral.
AND .. this is the biggie.. youve GOT to tell DVLA, or when plod/customs stop you, youre nicked.. for not declaring youre running veg oil, and evading the taxation. but its a free registration and yu can fill the forms online. Can u run diesel car on half diesel and half cooking oil without converting engine.?
no!!!!! it will eat up the gas lines, and decreas gas mileage, i would just stick with regular deisel (which i know from experience!!!)
firstly, the cooking oil needs to be used, not fresh. The answer is yes...followed by a no. Seeing that you didn't mention motors, I will apply my answer to that of a Jetta TDI. The motor will run, but the first issue to will run into is the clogging of your fuel system. There is a high level of filtration on Diesel motors that is needed, it is common automotive knowledge that things such as injectors tend to clog up prematurely. So that is pretty much the bulk of your issue, flow or rather the lack of.
good question.
Cheers.
no but you can turn cooking oil into bio deisel and then run your deisel on it.
try searching for the recipe on google .
good luck
